Troubles have mounted for Dr Rameez Malik, the prime accused in the alleged love jihad and forced religious conversion case linked to King George’s Medical University (KGMU), as police intensified efforts to arrest him. With the accused still absconding, authorities have enhanced the cash reward to ₹50,000 for information leading to his arrest and have also initiated property attachment proceedings.
Multiple police teams are conducting raids at possible hideouts, but despite sustained efforts, Dr Rameez remains out of reach. Acting under strict directions from Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, the police have escalated coercive measures to pressure the accused into surrendering.
