Agra: Father Who Killed Seven-Year-Old Son Believing Him to Be ‘Ravan’ Sentenced to Life Imprisonment
In a deeply disturbing case highlighting the dangers of superstition and blind faith, a court in Agra has sentenced a father to life imprisonment for the murder of his seven-year-old son, whom he believed to be an incarnation of ‘Ravan’ under the influence of tantric rituals.
The verdict was pronounced on Thursday by the court of Additional District and Sessions Judge (ADJ-29) Dinesh Kumar Chaurasia. The court held the accused father guilty of murder and sentenced him to life imprisonment along with a fine of ₹50,000.
