Ghaziabad’s Dasna Jail Transforms into a Model Reformatory: Inmates Take Class 10–12 Exams, “Kalpana Chawla Library” Now Open
Ghaziabad: Dasna District Jail in Uttar Pradesh is redefining incarceration by turning punishment into an opportunity for reform and education. Male, female, and juvenile inmates are now appearing for 10th and 12th-grade examinations under the UP Board, Open Board, and CBSE. Many inmates are passing with flying colors, gaining new recognition and hope as they reintegrate into society.
High-Tech Library and Computer FacilitiesThe jail has introduced a modern library and computer classes. A special library for female inmates, named the “Kalpana Chawla Library,” operates within their premises. Jail Superintendent Sitaram Sharma explained that the initiative aims to empower women, promote self-reliance, and raise awareness among inmates.
