KGMU Doctors Give New Life to Boy Worshipped as Lord Ganesha: Complex Surgery a Success
Lucknow: In a remarkable medical feat, doctors at King George’s Medical University (KGMU) successfully performed a complex surgery on 14-year-old Ganesh, a boy from Kushinagar, who was born with a large congenital nasal protrusion. Due to the unusual growth on his nose, villagers and his family believed him to be an incarnation of Lord Ganesha and worshipped him, avoiding medical treatment for over a decade.
Rare Congenital Condition Diagnosed
Ganesh was diagnosed with Nasoethmoidal Encephalocele, a rare congenital disorder where brain tissue protrudes through a hole in the skull.
