Jaipur to Introduce Traffic Marshals on Delhi Model to Ease Congestion; Proposal Sent to Government
Jaipur: Facing an acute shortage of traffic personnel amid rapid urban expansion, the Jaipur Police Commissionerate has proposed the introduction of Traffic Marshals on the lines of the Delhi model to improve traffic management across the city. A detailed proposal outlining the recruitment, selection and deployment process has been sent to the state government for approval.
Over the past fifteen years, Jaipur’s population has grown manifold, but the strength of traffic police has failed to keep pace. As a result, traffic congestion—especially during peak hours—has become a daily challenge, with existing measures yielding limited success.
