Mixed-Gender Massages Banned? Trivandrum Mayor Sparks Controversy
Trivandrum, Kerala: Trivandrum may soon see the end of mixed-gender massages if the city’s first BJP mayor, V. V. Rajesh, has his way. On Monday, Mayor Rajesh took a strong stance against "cross-massaging" — massages performed by practitioners of the opposite gender — declaring that such practices go against the country’s culture and will not be allowed in the capital.
The statement comes in the wake of a Trivandrum Municipal Corporation drive targeting spas where alleged improper activities were reported. Several establishments have already faced action from the corporation following complaints and investigations.
