Chaos at Bhopal Municipal Corporation: Congress Protesters Storm Office, Burn Effigies of Mayor
Bhopal, February 10, 2026: Congress workers staged a fierce protest at the Bhopal Municipal Corporation (BMC) headquarters on Monday over issues of contaminated water supply and the ongoing cattle-related controversy. Despite heavy police deployment and barricades, protesters broke through and entered the premises, clashing briefly with the authorities.
The demonstrators raised slogans demanding the resignation of the Mayor and MIC members. Following the submission of a memorandum, they burned effigies of the Mayor and MIC members, portraying them as “Ravana,” and displayed a cutout of the Mayor with eleven heads.
