Delhi Set to Get Relief from Traffic Jams with New FOB Proposals
New Delhi: The capital may soon see a significant reduction in traffic congestion as plans are underway to construct foot overbridges (FOBs) at over 60 locations across the city. The initiative aims to improve pedestrian safety and ease vehicular movement.
The Public Works Department (PWD) has already begun feasibility studies for FOB construction at several key locations. In East Delhi, a study is underway near Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University at Satyam Enclave, while in South Delhi, plans have been initiated near JNU at Ber Sarai.
PWD officials highlighted that at many busy intersections, a high volume of pedestrians crossing roads slows down vehicle movement, leading to long traffic jams. To address this, the government had asked MLAs to submit a list of priority location...
