Mumbai Metro 3 to Get Two New Pedestrian Subways Connecting Bullet Train Terminal and Racecourse
Mumbai: To enhance pedestrian connectivity on the recently launched Mumbai Metro Line 3, also known as the ‘Aqua Line’, the Mumbai Metro Rail Corporation Limited (MMRCL) has announced plans to construct two major subways. An agency will soon be appointed to prepare detailed project reports (DPR) and oversee project management during construction.
Subway Locations and Connectivity
The first proposed subway will connect Nehru Science Centre Metro Station in Worli to key locations including the Mahalaxmi Racecourse, Worli Promenade, and Nehru Planetarium. It will also link a new coastal road park and the upcoming commercial center being developed on the former Worli Dairy site. This subway is expected to be 1.6 kilometers long.
