Kanpur MLA Surendra Maithani Faces Trouble as Non-Bailable Warrant Issued

Trouble has mounted for BJP MLA Surendra Maithani from Kanpur as a non-bailable warrant (NBW) was issued against him by the local court. The order was passed after he failed to appear in court to give testimony in a pending case. According to reports, the Court of Chief Judicial Magistrate Suraj Mishra in Kanpur issued the NBW against Surendra Maithani from Govind Nagar on Thursday. Upon learning of the warrant, the MLA surrendered himself to the court. The court subsequently canceled the warrant on the condition of a personal bond of ₹20,000 and warned him to appear for future court hearings. The case dates back to 9 February 2011, when Maithani filed a report at Swarup Nagar Police Station regarding an incident in which his relative, Puneet Mohan Dhimri of Dibber village, Shimli Po...

Ghosi Prepares for ‘Mini Battle’ Ahead of UP Assembly Elections: Sympathy vs. Political Calculus

With the Ghosi Assembly seat now vacant, political parties in Uttar Pradesh are gearing up for a high-stakes bypoll, often described as a ‘mini battle’ ahead of the 2027 state elections. The contest is shaping up as a clash between sympathy and political strategy, with both sides weighing their options and fine-tuning election strategies. SP Banks on Sympathy Wave The Samajwadi Party (SP) is reportedly planning to field Sujit Singh, son of the late legislator Sudhakar Singh, as their candidate. Sujit Singh, a two-time block pramukh, could benefit from both his father’s political legacy and the sympathy vote arising from Sudhakar Singh’s untimely demise. The BJP, meanwhile, is mobilizing its cadre to consolidate support on the ground. While Dara Singh Chauhan’s return as a candidat...

Former MP Ramesh Chand Tomar Shares Stage With CM Yogi; Political Circles in Ghaziabad Abuzz

The sudden reappearance of four-time MP Dr. Ramesh Chand Tomar on the political stage has stirred significant buzz in Ghaziabad’s power corridors. His growing proximity to Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath is being seen as a major indicator of political realignment ahead of the 2027 Assembly and 2029 Lok Sabha elections. Tomar’s Revival Sends Signals Long considered sidelined within the BJP, Tomar’s recent activities have raised eyebrows across the opposition camp. After releasing his book in September in the presence of the Chief Minister, Tomar has now once again demonstrated political strength by inviting CM Yogi to inaugurate a newly constructed cave temple at Tarun Sagaram Teerth in Muradnagar. Political analysts believe these developments carry a clear message for...

Mumbai BMC Elections: Can BJP Break Uddhav’s Fortress in Bandra East? Thackeray Dominance Continues Since 2017

As campaigning for the first phase of Maharashtra’s local body elections enters its final stage, the political temperature in Mumbai has sharply risen. All eyes are now on the Bandra East Assembly segment, where Uddhav Thackeray’s faction has remained dominant since the 2017 BMC elections. The key question: Can the BJP penetrate this stronghold? Bandra East: A High-Stakes Battleground Bandra East, a Muslim-majority constituency, is strategically critical for all major parties. The segment comprises six BMC wards. In the 2017 civic polls, Uddhav Thackeray’s faction (then undivided Shiv Sena) won five out of six wards, while one ward went to the AIMIM. Political analysts believe that demographic equations this year may again benefit the Uddhav Balasaheb Thackeray (UBT) faction and t...

NDA Sweeps Sitamarhi Again: Will Amit Shah Fulfil His Promise of Making Pintu a ‘Big Leader’

The NDA alliance has once again delivered a spectacular performance in Bihar’s Sitamarhi district, securing all eight assembly seats in the 2025 elections—replicating its historic clean sweep from 2010. However, despite this emphatic victory, local residents are deeply disappointed as the district has not received a single ministerial berth in the new government. NDA Retains All Eight Seats—Shift in Party Balance In 2010, both BJP and JD(U) had won four seats each. In 2025, though the NDA has repeated the clean sweep, the distribution changed: 1 seat went to Upendra Kushwaha’s RLM 1 seat to Chirag Paswan’s LJPR JD(U) fell from four to two seats BJP successfully retained its four seats Despite internal reshuffling, the overall dominance of the NDA remains intact. Sikar, Rajasthan: Former Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot sharply criticized the state government on Wednesday during a press conference in Sikar, questioning the hurried and disorganized implementation of the Special Intense Revision (SIR) process. Gehlot Questions Unnecessary HurryGehlot asked, “If the election is three years away, why the rush in Rajasthan when the process is ongoing in 12 states? This could have been conducted transparently without undue pressure.” He further emphasized that BLOs are under tremendous stress due to strict deadlines, saying, “Names must be added by the 4th, and the list issued by the 9th.
