Chennai-based global technology company Zoho Corporation has entered the Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) software market, aiming to offer Indian businesses a comprehensive solution to manage their operations. The ERP market is currently valued at $63 billion, and Zoho seeks to compete with industry giants like Oracle and Microsoft.
The newly launched integrated ERP platform is designed to help companies manage all essential functions in one place, including accounting, inventory management, sales, procurement, and employee management.
Shivramakrishnan Iyer, Zoho’s Global Head of Finance and Operations, stated that existing ERP systems often have major shortcomings. “Many ERP solutions in the market are complex, expensive, and time-consuming to implement. They are typically designed with consultants in mind, overlooking the real challenges companies face,” he said.
What’s Special About Zoho ERP?
Unlike traditional ERP systems, Zoho’s new platform incorporates Artificial Intelligence (AI) from the ground up. This enables voice commands, predictive insights, and anomaly detection.
The ERP also features direct banking integration, eliminating the need for third-party software or complicated connections. Companies can manage collections, payments, and compliance with tax and government regulations directly within the ERP system.
Key Features
Zoho ERP brings together core financial management, billing, spend management, supply chain management, omnichannel commerce, and payroll management on a single platform. Additional capabilities include asset management, budgeting, continuous financial close, strong financial controls, and audit trails. The platform is fully GST and e-invoicing compliant.
It also supports revenue recognition in line with IFRS 15 and ASC 606 standards, simplifying compliance and providing accurate revenue insights. Payroll features are tailored specifically for Indian businesses, including automated compliance with Employee Provident Fund (EPF), Employee State Insurance (ESI), Tax Deducted at Source (TDS), Professional Tax, and Labor Welfare Fund regulations, ensuring timely and accurate salary processing.
Company Plans
Sridhar Vembu, Co-founder and Chief Scientist of Zoho, said a part of the team building Zoho ERP operates from their regional office in Kumbakonam, Tamil Nadu. As the product expands globally, Zoho plans to continue hiring local talent to support growth. Currently, around 200 employees work in Kumbakonam, and the company plans to develop a new facility with seating for 2,000 employees.
