Success Story: From Selling a Ceiling Fan to Fund Her Father’s Last Rites to Owning a ₹157 Crore Company

New Delhi: The story of Seema Bansal, a native of Gwalior, is a testament to resilience, determination, and hard work. Today, her company is a recognized name in the packaging industry, but her journey began under extremely challenging circumstances.

A Childhood Marked by Hardship
Seema recalls, “My father passed away when I was just one-and-a-half years old. Our financial situation was so dire that my mother did not even have enough money to arrange my father’s last rites. She sold our only ceiling fan for ₹170 and used that money to perform the funeral.”

Her mother, single-handedly raising four children, worked tirelessly to provide for the family, teaching music to earn a living and ensuring all children attended school. Due to financial constraints, Seema had to switch to a government school, where adjusting to the new environment was difficult. Despite these challenges, she excelled academically, topping her class after returning to school.

Early Struggles and Determination
After initial hardships, Seema moved to Mumbai with her brother, hoping to stay with relatives. When that plan fell through, she lived in a small tin shed, took on multiple small jobs, and eventually secured a position in an IT company. Her performance earned her an opportunity to work in London, which marked a turning point in her life.

Life Abroad and Challenges
In London, Seema met her future husband, and the couple eventually married. They later moved to the United States, where her husband set up an office on Wall Street. Despite initial success, the family faced a significant business loss, compelling them to return to India.

The Birth of DCG Packs
Drawing inspiration from packaging catalogs that arrived monthly in their London home, Seema decided to enter the packaging industry—a field traditionally dominated by men. With no prior experience, she launched DCG Tech Limited, starting from scratch. She personally managed operations, sales, accounting, and logistics.

Through unwavering commitment and perseverance, Seema transformed a small venture into a ₹157 crore company, serving over 50,000 clients across India and the UAE. Her company now provides innovative and sustainable packaging solutions, making a significant mark in the industry.

A Beacon of Inspiration
Seema’s journey from adversity to success embodies courage, resilience, and the power of determination. Her story continues to inspire aspiring entrepreneurs across India.
