Success Story: From a Garage Workshop to a ₹10,752 Crore Empire – How Shrikant Badve’s Star Rose

The story of Shrikant Badve began in 1988, when he and a few associates started a small workshop in Pune called Badve Engineering. At the time, the venture had just three employees and very limited resources. Yet, Badve had a big dream.

From Humble Beginnings
Shrikant Badve, the founder and Managing Director of Belrise Industries, has now entered the list of India’s billionaires. From a modest garage-like unit, he built a nationwide automotive component powerhouse. Today, his company employs over 8,000 skilled professionals and operates more than 17 modern manufacturing plants across India.

Building a Multi-Thousand Crore Turnover
A graduate in Electronics and Telecommunications from Babasaheb Ambedkar Marathwada University, Badve also received management training at IIM Ahmedabad, sharpening his leadership skills. Belrise Industries now holds a 24% market share in India’s two-wheeler metal component segment, ranking among the top three companies in the sector. The company manufactures critical parts including chassis systems, suspension, and exhaust systems, serving both traditional internal combustion vehicles and the rapidly growing electric vehicle (EV) market. With a turnover exceeding ₹7,000 crore, Belrise Industries has become a key player in India’s automotive ecosystem.

Stock Market Boost Elevates Net Worth
Belrise Industries’ stock market performance has significantly increased Badve’s wealth. Listed at an IPO price of ₹90 on 28 May, the stock has risen to ₹159. Badve holds a 59.56% stake (approximately 53 crore shares), pushing his real-time net worth to $1.2 billion (around ₹10,752 crore) as of 22 December 2025, according to Forbes.

Face of ‘Magnetic Maharashtra’
Beyond business, Badve is an influential policy advisor. He serves on the Board of Governors at IIM Jammu and is a member of the Maharashtra Government’s Economic Advisory Council. As a brand ambassador for initiatives like ‘Magnetic Maharashtra’, he has collaborated with cricket legend Sachin Tendulkar and Bollywood icon Madhuri Dixit to showcase the state’s development potential on a global stage.

From a three-person workshop to a multi-billion-dollar empire, Shrikant Badve’s journey is not just a tale of wealth—it’s a testament to vision, perseverance, and strategic leadership.
