New Delhi: Taking a family business to new heights requires vision, innovation, and relentless hard work. Viren Khuller, the third-generation entrepreneur of the Khuller family, has done just that. Starting with a modest investment of ₹10,000, he has transformed the family’s dental care brand STIM into a company generating ₹250 crore in turnover today.
A Legacy Reimagined
The journey began in the 1970s, when Viren’s grandfather, the late V.D. Khuller, laid the foundation of the business with a small investment. By 2015, when Viren took charge, the company’s annual turnover was ₹80 crore. Through strategic expansion, modern management practices, and innovative products, Viren propelled the business to ₹250 crore by 2024.
Today, Global Dent Aids Private Limited, as the company is officially known, produces toothbrushes, interdental brushes, dental floss, mouthwash, oral care kits, dental guards, and snore guards, catering to all age groups.
Education and Innovation
Viren, who grew up in Delhi, completed his schooling at Delhi Public School and earned a BBA in Management and Marketing from Long Island University, New York. Returning to India, he immediately set out to revamp the family business. Within two years, he introduced modern inventory management, streamlined sales processes, and expanded domestic operations, boosting both revenue and workforce.
Manufacturing Might
STIM now operates four manufacturing plants in Noida, producing 15 lakh toothbrushes daily and offering over 60 products for different age groups. From children’s brushes to orthodontist-approved products for teens and young adults, and dentures for the elderly, the company caters to a diverse customer base.
Growth Through Exports
Exports constitute 70% of STIM’s revenue, with major markets including the USA, UK, Germany, Canada, and Japan. The remaining 30% comes from the domestic market, served via both offline retail and online platforms. Online sales are primarily through Amazon and Flipkart, accounting for 80% of online revenue, while the remaining 20% is through the company’s official website.
Affordable and Accessible Products
STIM focuses on affordable dental care for all. Its entry-level toothbrush is priced at just ₹20, while a comprehensive children’s dental kit—including a toothbrush, toothpaste, floss, two-minute timer, brush cover, and a free gift—costs ₹350.
Viren Khuller’s journey showcases how a small family business can scale globally through vision, innovation, and commitment, turning a ₹10,000 investment into a ₹250 crore enterprise.
