After Snacks, Now Amitabh Bachchan to Endorse Water – Joins Reliance’s ‘Campa Sure’ as Brand Ambassador

New Delhi: After endorsing snacks, Bollywood legend Amitabh Bachchan will now promote packaged water. Mukesh Ambani’s company, Reliance Consumer Products Limited (RCPL), has signed a deal with Bachchan to make him the brand ambassador for its bottled water brand, ‘Campa Sure’.

According to Economic Times, the deal is for one year. Reliance expects that Bachchan’s immense popularity will help them make ‘Campa Sure’ available to consumers at a more affordable price. The company has adopted a pricing strategy similar to what it used for its cola drinks. The price of ‘Campa Sure’ is set 20-30% lower than competitors like Bisleri, Coca-Cola’s Kinley, and PepsiCo’s Aquafina.

Third Major Endorsement Deal
This marks the third major endorsement deal for Reliance’s FMCG division (Fast-Moving Consumer Goods), RCPL, in recent months. Earlier, in April, ‘Campa’ signed actor Ram Charan as its brand ambassador, launching a campaign during the IPL T20 season. Two months ago, RCPL also formed a major partnership with actor and motorsport racer Ajith Kumar’s motorsport team.

GST Cut on Packaged Water
Packaged water is one of the categories that saw a GST reduction in September. The Goods and Services Tax (GST) on natural or artificial mineral water was reduced from 18% to 5%. As a result, companies in this sector have lowered their prices accordingly.

Amitabh Bachchan’s Endorsements
Amitabh Bachchan is currently endorsing several brands. He promotes the snacks brand Bikaji, with his advertisement for Bikaji Bhujia becoming particularly famous. In addition, he has signed deals with Flipkart (Big Billion Days), India Gate Basmati Rice, Dr. Fixit Waterproofing, IDFC First Bank, Muthoot Finance, Dabur Red Toothpaste, and many more.
