Gurugram: A shocking murder case has come to light from Gurugram’s Udyog Vihar area, where a 26-year-old woman was found dead inside her rented room. The decomposed body was discovered hidden under the bed nearly a week after her live-in partner allegedly strangled her to death and fled the scene. The gruesome truth surfaced only after neighbors complained of a foul smell emanating from the room.
Police identified the deceased as Angoori, a native of Bihar, who was employed with a private company in Gurugram. According to investigators, she had been living in a live-in relationship with a man named Anuj for the past one and a half years. The couple had recently moved into a rented accommodation in Dundahera village about 20 days ago.
A police official stated, “When we arrived, the room was locked from outside. Upon breaking it open, we found the woman’s body under the bed. The corpse was in an advanced stage of decomposition.” The body was sent for post-mortem examination, and a case of murder has been registered at the Udyog Vihar police station.
CCTV and Call Records Under Scrutiny
Police have begun examining CCTV footage and call detail records to trace the accused. Initial investigation suggests that Angoori was last seen alive on October 31, when she returned from work around 7 PM. It is suspected that she was murdered later that same night.
Though strangulation is suspected as the cause of death, police said there were no visible injury marks due to the body’s decayed state.
Troubled Marriage and New Relationship
Authorities revealed that Angoori was earlier married to a man from Basai village who worked in Noida. Due to disputes with her in-laws, she had separated from her husband and later began living with Anuj.
Murder Suspect Absconding Since a Week
The accused, Anuj, has been absconding since the night of the incident. Police teams are conducting raids and have initiated contact with Angoori’s family members, who reportedly reside in Kapashera.
This chilling case exposes the dark side of urban relationships and the growing number of crimes stemming from personal conflicts and live-in partnerships.
