Ghazipur Man Appears on Cot in Court, Sent to Jail Despite Health Claims
Ghazipur, UP: In a bizarre incident at the ACJM Court in Ghazipur, Uttar Pradesh, a 70-year-old accused appeared for his hearing while lying on a cot, claiming to be paralyzed and unwell. Despite his condition, the court ordered him to serve a three-month jail sentence.
Case BackgroundThe case is related to a bounced cheque. Ramdarsh Yadav, the accused, had borrowed ₹9 lakh from Ajit Ram for business purposes. To repay the loan, Yadav issued a cheque, which bounced. When he failed to repay the loan, the complainant filed a case in court.
Earlier, the ACJM Court had sentenced Yadav to three months in jail along with an order to repay the loan with interest. Yadav challenged the ruling in the High Court, which instructed him to surrender in the lower court.
