
The electric two-wheeler segment in India witnessed strong growth in January 2026, with over 112,000 units sold, marking a 20% month-on-month and 19% year-on-year increase. TVS Motor Company emerged as the market leader, followed by Bajaj Auto, Ather Energy, Hero Vida, and Ola Electric in the top five.
TVS Motor Tops the Charts
TVS sold 34,433 electric scooters last month, led by its iQube and Orbiter models, securing the highest market share. The gap between TVS and second-placed Bajaj Auto was 8,922 units, underscoring TVS’s dominance in the segment.
Bajaj Auto in Second Place
Bajaj Auto sold 25,511 units of its Chetak electric scooter, achieving a 20.83% market share. The company recently launched the affordable Chetak C25 model, offering improved range and features.
Ather Energy at Third
Ather Energy secured the third spot with 21,915 units sold, capturing around 18% market share. Its 450 series and Ritza models remain popular among consumers.
Hero Vida Achieves Over 10% Market Share
Hero MotoCorp’s Vida brand recorded 13,273 units sold, achieving a 10.84% market share. Its scooters are noted for affordable pricing, strong features, and impressive range.
Ola Electric Struggles
Ola Electric had a challenging month, selling only 7,511 units, with a market share of 6.13%, down sharply from around 25% a year ago. The company’s S1 series scooters and Roadster series motorcycles contributed to its sales.
The January 2026 data highlights TVS and Bajaj’s strong foothold in India’s growing electric two-wheeler market, while Ola Electric faces increasing competition.
