Renault India witnessed a 33.6% year-on-year growth in car sales in January 2026, selling 3,715 units across its three models—Kiger, Triber, and Kwid. This marks a strong start to 2026 for the French automaker, even before the official launch of its new Duster SUV, which is scheduled for March.
Strong Demand for Kiger and Triber
The facelifted Kiger SUV and Triber MPV played a major role in the growth, attracting customers with enhanced features and competitive pricing. Renault India had already reported a 45% year-on-year growth in the second half of 2025, indicating a steady upward trajectory in the market.
New Duster Creates Buzz
The upcoming Duster is expected to compete with popular mid-size SUVs like the Hyundai Creta, Tata Sierra, Maruti Suzuki Victoris, and Kia Seltos. The model features a powerful hybrid powertrain, upgraded design, and several segment-first features, making it one of the most anticipated SUVs in the segment. Renault will reveal the pricing in March 2026.
