Lotus For-Me: The Super-Hybrid SUV Set to Storm China with Lightning Speed

Sports car manufacturer Lotus is gearing up to launch its first plug-in hybrid SUV in China, named For-Me. Based on Lotus’s renowned electric SUV Eletre, the For-Me combines the power of a petrol engine and electric motors to deliver a high-performance driving experience. The SUV is expected to be unveiled in January 2026, with sales starting by March 2026.

Dimensions and Presence
The For-Me SUV is 200.8 inches long, 79.5 inches wide, and 64.5 inches tall, with a wheelbase of 118.8 inches. Its strong and commanding build gives it the presence of a large, luxurious SUV.

Blistering Speed
Designed for aerodynamics, the For-Me can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in just 3 seconds. An active spoiler ensures high-speed stability, while the SUV’s substantial weight of approximately 3,000 kg adds to its road grip.

Power and Performance
Under the hood, it features a 2.0-liter turbo petrol engine generating 279 HP, which, when combined with the electric motor, delivers a staggering 952 HP. Lotus claims a range of over 1,000 km (620 miles) on a full tank and full charge.

High-Tech Features
The SUV comes equipped with an innovative LiDAR sensor that retracts when not in use, assisting with safe driving and autonomous parking. A 900-volt system allows fast charging, with options for 50 kWh or 70 kWh batteries depending on customer needs.

Strategic Importance for Lotus
After a challenging 2025 with global sales dropping 40%, China remains Lotus’s largest market, accounting for nearly half of its sales. The For-Me SUV is part of Lotus’s strategy to attract buyers seeking high-performance hybrid vehicles, blending petrol engines with electric technology for customers not ready to go fully electric.

With its mind-blowing speed, cutting-edge tech, and luxury design, the Lotus For-Me aims to make a splash in China’s SUV market.
