Jio-bp Launches ACTIVE Petrol Technology for Cleaner Engines and Higher Mileage

New Delhi: Jio-bp has introduced its innovative ACTIVE petrol technology, designed to keep engines clean while delivering up to 100 extra kilometres of mileage per year—all without additional cost. The technology works by removing dirt and deposits from critical engine components, ensuring smoother operation and improved performance. The launch took place at India Energy Week 2026, in the presence of Petroleum Minister Hardeep Singh Puri.

Key Benefits of ACTIVE Petrol Technology:
The new petrol is specially formulated for Indian vehicles, including cars and two-wheelers. By cleaning engine parts during operation, it improves engine efficiency, reduces wear and tear, and ensures a smoother ride. Jio-bp claims that with regular use, the engine remains cleaner and more reliable over time, while drivers can enjoy up to 100 km additional mileage annually.

Advanced Fuel Chemistry and Testing:
Developed using over a century of BP’s global fuel research, the ACTIVE technology petrol underwent extensive testing to meet both industry standards and India-specific engine conditions. To validate its cleaning performance, Jio-bp ran a motorcycle over 4,000 km on the Coimbatore test track, demonstrating both improved fuel efficiency and enhanced engine longevity. Cleaner engines experience less wear, reducing the frequency and cost of servicing.

Reduced Maintenance and Better Fuel Efficiency:
According to Sarthak Behuria, Chairman of Jio-bp, Indian drivers prefer engines that are smooth, reliable, require low maintenance, and deliver more kilometres per litre. The ACTIVE petrol automatically cleans the engine during operation, minimizing the impact of harmful deposits. Jio-bp CEO Akshay Wadhwa added that five years of dedicated research in fuel chemistry have made this technology capable of improving fuel efficiency while lowering maintenance needs, potentially saving vehicle owners money over time.

With the introduction of ACTIVE petrol technology, Jio-bp aims to combine superior engine performance, better mileage, and lower upkeep—addressing the key concerns of Indian motorists.
