Panchak Rules for December 2025: Avoid These Activities for Five Days Starting Tomorrow

The final Panchak of 2025 will begin on the evening of December 24, 2025, and continue until the morning of December 29, 2025. According to Vedic astrology, Panchak is considered a highly significant period, during which certain activities should be strictly avoided to prevent negative consequences.

What is Panchak?

In Hindu tradition, Panchak occurs when the Moon transits the last five Nakshatras—Dhanishta, Shatabhisha, Purva Bhadrapada, Uttara Bhadrapada, and Revati. These five days are believed to carry potential risks, and performing inauspicious tasks during this period can result in obstacles, losses, or repeated negative outcomes. Astrologers advise heightened caution during Panchak.

Duration of the Final Panchak of 2025

The year-end Panchak will commence on Wednesday, December 24, 2025, at 7:47 PM and conclude on Monday, December 29, 2025, at 7:41 AM. As the new year approaches, it is particularly important to remain vigilant during this period.

Types of Panchak

Astrology categorizes Panchak based on the day it begins:

  • Rog Panchak (Sunday): Causes mental stress and difficulties.
  • Raj Panchak (Monday): Generally considered auspicious.
  • Agni Panchak (Tuesday): Inauspicious; caution is advised.
  • Chor Panchak (Friday): Travel and journeys are not recommended.
  • Mrityu Panchak (Saturday): Highly inauspicious; extreme caution needed.

Activities to Avoid During Panchak

During Panchak, certain activities are considered inauspicious:

  • Do not construct roofs or make wooden beds or furniture, as these can invite illness or misfortune into the household.
  • Avoid traveling south, as journeys in this direction may bring adverse effects.

Panchak Rules for Funerals

Special rules also apply for last rites during Panchak. To minimize negative effects, five Kush grass replicas should be used during cremation rituals. Failing to follow this practice is believed to bring potential risks of untimely death to family members.

With awareness of these rules, devotees can navigate Panchak safely and ensure that auspiciousness prevails in their households and personal endeavors.
