
The Central Teacher Eligibility Test (CTET) 2026 is scheduled to be held on 8th February 2026. Candidates who have not yet submitted their application forms have one last opportunity to do so. The registration window for CTET 2026 will soon close, as announced by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE).
CTET 2026 Registration Deadline:
The online application process for CTET 2026 will remain open until 18th December 2025. Candidates aspiring for a government teaching position are urged to complete their registration at the official website: ctet.nic.in. Fee payment must also be completed before 11:59 PM on 18th December 2025.
CBSE had activated the registration link on 27th November 2025. After submission, candidates will have the option to make corrections in their forms between 23rd and 26th December 2025.
How to Apply for CTET 2026:
- Visit the official CTET website: ctet.nic.in.
- Click on the “Apply for CTET 2026” link on the homepage.
- New users should select “New Registration” and provide personal details like name, parents’ names, and date of birth in capital letters.
- Select your preferred exam city and language (English or Hindi).
- Enter educational qualifications, category, employment status, and Aadhaar number.
- Provide an active mobile number and valid email address for notifications.
- Upload a recent passport-sized photograph and signature in JPG/JPEG format on a white background.
- Complete the application process and pay the applicable fees online.

Payment can be made via debit/credit card or net banking. GST and bank charges, if applicable, will be extra.
Eligibility Criteria:
- Paper-I (Primary Teacher, Classes 1–5): 12th pass with at least 50% marks and D.El.Ed or equivalent, or Graduation with B.Ed.
- Paper-II (Upper Primary Teacher, Classes 6–8): Graduation with at least 50% marks and B.Ed, or 12th pass with 50% marks and 4-year BA/B.Sc.Ed or equivalent degree.
CTET 2026 Exam Schedule:
CTET 2026 will be conducted in two shifts:
- Paper-I: 9:00 AM – 12:00 PM
- Paper-II: 2:30 PM – 5:00 PM
Candidates who qualify Paper-I are eligible to apply for primary school teaching posts, while those who clear Paper-II can apply for upper primary teaching positions in government schools.
Exam Pattern:
- Both papers carry 150 marks each (total 300 marks).
- Each question carries 1 mark.
- There is no negative marking.
- Duration of each paper is 2.5 hours.
