Government Prepares Strict Action Against VIT University as Warden Remains Missing for Third Day

Bhopal: Tensions continue to rise at VIT Bhopal’s Sehore campus following escalating unrest among students. Warden and Assistant Professor Prashant Pandey remains missing for the third consecutive day, despite multiple FIRs filed against him. The state’s Higher Education Department has taken serious note of the situation and is preparing stringent action against the university.

Chaos and Unrest at VIT Sehore Campus
Even on Saturday, efforts were underway to recover from incidents of vandalism and arson at the campus. Warden Pandey, who is accused of mistreatment and assaulting students along with other allegations, remains untraceable. In light of these events, the state Higher Education Department has initiated a thorough review of the campus situation.

Strict Measures on the Horizon
Government sources informed TOI that decisive action against the university is being planned. Complaints of contaminated drinking water, substandard food, and inadequate health facilities have been reported. A three-member committee was set up by the department to investigate the unrest, and it has submitted its report to the government.

Committee Report Highlights Serious Lapses
The committee’s findings highlight grave administrative lapses, poor crisis management, and violations of institutional protocols at the campus. According to a senior official speaking on condition of anonymity, the department is now drafting corrective measures. These may include disciplinary action against top university officials, restructuring of administrative responsibilities, strict monitoring, and even financial penalties. Once the report undergoes final review, formal directives are expected to be issued to VIT management.

Warden Missing Amid Complaints
Police reports indicate that Warden Pandey went missing at the beginning of the week, immediately after complaints of vandalism and misconduct were registered. Several students and staff have accused him of mishandling disciplinary matters, which allegedly led to unrest and damage to university property. Subsequent FIRs have been filed citing negligence, abuse of power, and failure to maintain order.
