Shajapur (Madhya Pradesh):
MP Public Works Department Minister Rakesh Singh delivered a sharp political jab at Lalu Prasad Yadav during a recent road foundation event in Shajapur, using a witty metaphor: “The samosa has potato, but Lalu Yadav is nowhere to be seen in Bihar. The public has awakened.”
Targeting Past Governments:
Singh also criticized the Congress party, pointing out that for nearly 57 years, development took a backseat under their rule. He highlighted that during the tenure of Digvijay Singh, roads and electricity were neglected, whereas his government prioritizes infrastructure and public welfare.
Warnings to Officials and Contractors:
During the event, Singh warned officials and contractors to ensure high-quality work. He stated that substandard construction would lead to contractors being blacklisted and officials facing strict action. Singh emphasized that under his leadership, the PWD has been renamed from Public Works Department to Public Welfare Department, with projects designed for long-term community benefit, such as creating ponds named “Lok Sarovar” from the excavated soil during road construction.
Foundation Stone Events:
The minister also performed the groundbreaking ceremony for several key infrastructure projects:
- Four-lane development of Shajapur urban section of old National Highway-3 at a cost of ₹84.72 crore.
- Construction of a high-level bridge over Chillar River.
- Development of Ramdi-Aagkhedi via Beharwal road (₹15.59 crore) and Bhaisaya Nagin-Kankari road (₹6.17 crore).
Timely Completion for Singh Sth:
Singh assured that all infrastructure projects ahead of the upcoming Singh Sth fair in Ujjain would be completed well before the event, ensuring seamless preparation.
Humor Meets Governance:
With his witty remarks and firm administrative directives, Minister Singh managed to combine political commentary, public accountability, and development updates, leaving an impact on both media and the attending public.
