Bihar Students to Receive Free Laptops and Cash Rewards — But Only After Clearing This Competitive Exam

The Bihar government has announced an exciting opportunity for meritorious students with strong interest in Mathematics and Science. Under a special initiative, selected students will receive free laptops, certificates, medals, and attractive cash prizes—but only after qualifying a state-level talent search examination.

Two Major Talent Exams Announced

The examinations are being organized by the Department of Science, Technology and Technical Education in collaboration with the Bihar Council on Science and Technology (BCST). Two talent search tests have been announced:

  • Srinivasa Ramanujan Talent Search Test (Mathematics) – 2025
  • Sir C.V. Raman Talent Search Test (Science) – 2026

The application process has already begun. The exams will be conducted across various institutions in the state, with Government Engineering College, Aurangabad selected as one of the major examination centres.
The tests are completely free of cost for students from Classes 6 to 12.

Online Applications Open till 27 November

Students can apply online from 18 to 27 November, after which admit cards will be issued on 28 November.
The examinations will be conducted on 29–30 November and 1 December 2025, in four shifts daily:

  • 10 AM – 11 AM
  • 12 PM – 1 PM
  • 2 PM – 3 PM
  • 4 PM – 5 PM

All candidates must report at the exam centre on time.

Students who excel in the examination will receive:

  • Free Laptop
  • Medal & Certificate
  • Cash Prizes:
  • ₹5,000 for 1st Prize
  • ₹3,000 for 2nd Prize
  • ₹2,000 for 3rd Prize

These rewards aim to encourage young talent in the fields of science and mathematics.

Principal Dr. Prashant Mani of Government Engineering College, Aurangabad, confirmed that the college has been designated as an exam centre. Students can also visit the websites of the Department of Science & Technology, Bihar and BCST for further information.
