Swap Soap for Coconut Oil: Ayurvedic Remedy for Glowing Skin in 10 Minutes

Many people scrub their skin with soap to remove accumulated dirt and grime, but harsh soaps can sometimes do more harm than good. So, what’s a natural alternative for bathing that nourishes the skin while keeping it clean?

Ayurvedic expert Dr. Shobna recommends a simple, kitchen-based remedy that can brighten the skin, reduce tanning, and give your body a natural glow—all without the harsh effects of soap.

Ingredients Needed:

  • 1 packet of Eno (fruit salt)
  • 1 teaspoon gram flour (besan)
  • Juice of half a lemon
  • 1 teaspoon coconut oil
  • 2 teaspoons milk

Preparation Method:
Mix all the ingredients thoroughly to form a smooth, yellow-colored paste. Instead of soap, gently apply this paste all over your body. Leave it for 10 minutes, then rinse with lukewarm water. While this remedy is not meant for daily use, applying it at least twice a week can help reduce tanning and brighten your skin.

Important Note:
Perform a patch test before applying the paste over your entire body, especially on sensitive areas, as Eno may irritate the skin. If you experience any discomfort, avoid using it further.

Benefits of the Ingredients:

  • Gram Flour (Besan): Helps cleanse the skin naturally by absorbing excess oil, exfoliating dead cells, and giving a fresh, matte appearance.
  • Lemon: Rich in vitamin C and natural acids, it brightens the skin and reduces dark spots while giving a mild exfoliating effect.
  • Milk: Contains lactic acid, which gently exfoliates and softens the skin, acting as a natural moisturizer to reduce dryness.
  • Coconut Oil: Nourishes the skin, locks in moisture, and leaves the body feeling soft and supple.
