Patna: Senior RJD leader Shivanand Tiwari has publicly criticized Tejashwi Yadav for his political inactivity, while lauding Tej Pratap Yadav for his proactive role during the Makar Sankranti “dahi-chura” gathering. The annual event, long considered a political ritual in Bihar, brought together party leaders and workers, but Tiwari’s social media post has stirred a fresh political debate.
Tej Pratap Shines, Tejashwi Missing in Action
In a post on social media, Tiwari wrote, “The Makar Sankranti dahi-chura feast is usually a celebration where one leader stands out. This time, that leader is Tej Pratap. Tejashwi, however, has been completely absent since November 10. Party workers, exhausted after election losses, needed encouragement and reassurance about the future, but when the leader himself is missing from the field, who will energize the party?”
Tiwari pointed out that Tej Pratap personally invited leaders and workers to the event at Rabri Devi’s residence, ensuring active participation and engagement. In contrast, Tejashwi’s absence was seen as a lack of leadership and seriousness.

The senior leader also criticized Tejashwi’s advisors, who had earlier set the date for his swearing-in and sidelined Tej Pratap as an obstacle in the succession plan. Tiwari questioned their current silence and inactivity at a time when the party needs leaders to motivate and energize its cadre.
