Years Later, ‘Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai’ Mother–Daughter Reunite: Hina Khan and Shivangi Joshi Steal the Spotlight in Traditional Avatars

Television’s iconic mother–daughter duo from Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai—Akshara and Naira—reunited after years, and the moment instantly won hearts both on and off screen. Actors Hina Khan and Shivangi Joshi, who portrayed the beloved characters, were recently seen together at the reception of Nupur Sanon and Stebin Ben, where their emotional reunion and elegant ethnic looks became the highlight of the evening.

The long-running show, which began with Akshara’s story and has now reached its fourth generation with Abhira, has seen many characters come and go. However, the bond shared by Hina and Shivangi remains special even years after their on-screen journey ended. Their reunion video went viral on social media, with fans celebrating the return of their favourite “mother–daughter” pair.

Despite the passage of time, Shivangi continues to affectionately refer to Hina as “mumma,” reflecting their warm real-life relationship. As they posed together for the cameras, their chemistry and mutual affection were clearly visible, drawing admiration from fans and media alike.

Traditional Glamour Takes Centre Stage

Hina Khan arrived solo at the reception, while Shivangi Joshi made an appearance with her brother. When the two finally met, they posed together, holding hands and smiling warmly—creating moments that quickly became fan favourites.

Hina looked stunning in a coffee-brown saree adorned with shimmering sequins. The heavily embellished border and star-studded detailing across the saree gave it a dramatic yet elegant appeal. She styled it with flawless pleats and an open pallu, making her stand out effortlessly. Her look was completed with a minimal jewellery approach—diamond rings on both hands—and softly waved short hair, striking the perfect balance between glamour and grace.

Shivangi’s Designer Lehenga Worth Over ₹2 Lakh

Shivangi Joshi turned heads in a rich green velvet lehenga designed by Ayushi Maniar. The outfit, officially priced at ₹2,11,154 (currently available at a discounted price), featured intricate embroidery and colourful stone embellishments that added depth and drama to the look.

The lehenga was fitted at the waist with flared panels below, creating a fishtail silhouette. It was paired with a matching sleeveless blouse featuring a sweetheart neckline and similar stonework. Shivangi completed her ensemble with a velvet dupatta draped over both arms, along with traditional accessories like a maang tikka, bangles and bracelets—perfectly capturing a regal desi aesthetic.

Fans Shower Love on the Duo

As soon as pictures and videos surfaced online, fans flooded social media with praise. Many called them the “best mother–daughter duo” of Indian television, while some even remarked that the show lost its charm after their exit. Comments describing them as “stunning,” “beautiful” and “iconic” reflected the deep emotional connection viewers still share with the pair.

Their reunion proved once again that while shows evolve, certain relationships—and memories—remain timeless.
