
Starting January 12, 2026, train ticket booking has become easier for users whose IRCTC accounts are linked with Aadhaar. Under the new rules, Aadhaar-verified users can book general reserved tickets on the very first day of the Advance Reservation Period (ARP), from 8:00 AM to 12:00 midnight. Linking your IRCTC account with Aadhaar is mandatory to avail this facility.
How to Link Aadhaar with Your IRCTC Account
To link your Aadhaar, you need:
- The IRCTC mobile app installed on your phone
- Your Aadhaar card
- Your mobile number linked with Aadhaar, as the verification OTP will be sent to this number
Steps via IRCTC App:
- Log in to your IRCTC account.
- Click on Account at the bottom.
- Select Authenticate User.
- Choose AADHAAR CARD/VID.
- Enter your Aadhaar details – Aadhaar number, date of birth, and gender.
- Tick the confirmation checkbox and request OTP.
- Enter the OTP received on your Aadhaar-linked mobile number.
- Submit, and your IRCTC account will now be linked with Aadhaar.
Linking via RailOne App
You can also link your IRCTC account using the RailOne app:
- Log in to your RailOne account.
- Navigate to the You section.
- Click on Link your Aadhaar.
- Enter your name, date of birth, gender, and Aadhaar number.
- Accept terms and click Verify.
- Enter the OTP sent to your Aadhaar-linked mobile number.
- Once verified, your IRCTC account will be successfully linked with Aadhaar.

- Ensure that you have an IRCTC or RailOne account before linking.
- Double-check that all details entered match exactly with your Aadhaar card.
- Once linked, you can book tickets on the first day of the Advance Reservation Period without any hassle.
